Mizzou Disability Coalition

For two years during my undergraduate studies, I was the Vice President of Public Relations for Mizzou Disability Coalition, an organization that advocates for disability rights on Mizzou’s campus. Through this role I handled internal and external communication efforts. This included member recruitment, establishing and maintaining our social media presence on campus through Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, as well as designing all graphics, promotional materials, and merchandise. I also collaborated with our executive board to plan all events and implement new programs. This position has shown me how to effectively communicate messaging and strategically develop the brand of an organization. During my time in this position, I completely rebranded the organization’s social media, the membership numbers doubled, and the Instagram following quadrupled. In the fall of 2020, I was awarded the Lee Henson Access Mizzou Award by the University of Missouri for my work both on campus and through social media for MDC.
